BEFORE PURCHASING

  1. Please note that Scanteak does not provide the following services:
    • Trade-in/Buy-in programmes for pre-owned furniture.
    • Custom-made furniture.
    • Staining of furniture to a darker colour.

    1. Please note that the images on www.scanteak.com.sg and all its sub-domains/pages are for illustration purposes only, and actual colours may vary slightly depending on
      • Lighting.
      • Viewing angle.
      • Natural wood material. Due to the nature of wood, grains and patterns will differ. We strongly recommend visiting our showrooms for a detailed look at our products.

    2. As Scanteak’s products are finished by hand, actual product dimensions may vary slightly from the dimensions specified on the website.

    3. As wood is a natural material, please note that the following requests will not be entertained:
      • Matching the colour of delivered furniture to existing products at the location of delivery.
      • Ensuring that delivered wood items have identical and/or similar patterns, markings or grains.
      • Ensuring that delivered wood items have no “rings” or “eye marks”.

      1. All prices reflected on www.scanteak.com.sg and/or other marketing materials online and/or offline are in Singapore Dollars (SGD, S$), and are inclusive of prevailing government Goods and Services Taxes.
        • All prices are correct at the time of publishing; Scanteak reserves the right to amend prices as and when deemed necessary.

        1. We currently only deliver to addresses in Singapore. Should you wish to purchase an item for use overseas, please note that:
          • You will need to arrange for a proxy and/or freight forwarder to collect the items from our warehouse on your behalf. Please note that warehouse opening hours apply. Please refer to “Self-Collection of Purchased Items” for details.
          • As the dimensions stated on www.scanteak.com.sg and all its sub-domains/pages are of the assembled product, please contact us in the event you require each item’s m3 specifications.
          • Items purchased from www.scanteak.com.sg and Scanteak’s showrooms in Singapore are covered by Scanteak’s Product Warranty. However please note that items purchased in Singapore and brought overseas are not covered by Scanteak’s Product Warranty. For more details, please refer to the “Product Warranty” section below.
          • We seek your understanding that documents such as Certificate of Origin and/or supplier information will not be provided.

          1. Purchased items may only be held at Scanteak’s warehouse for 6 calendar months from the date of the first order date, and additional storage charges may apply for orders held after the stipulated 6 calendar months.
            • Additional storage time is chargeable at S$50 for the 7th month, or 10% of the total sales order amount (whichever is higher).
            • From the 8th month onward, storage is chargeable at S$50, or 10% of the total sales order amount (whichever is higher), per week.
            • Scanteak reserves the right to cancel (without refunds) any undelivered order if
            1. the items have been held at Scanteak’s warehouse for 10 calendar months from the date of first scheduled delivery or
            2. storage charges have not been paid upon final delivery.

          2. Last-piece/Showroom piece/Clearance items (SKU/Product code numbers starting with 'S') may only be held at Scanteak’s warehouse for up to 1 calendar month from the date of purchase.

          3. Factory series items (SKU/Product code numbers starting with 'F') may only be held at Scanteak's warehouse for up to 3 calendar months from the date of purchase.

            PLACING AN ORDER

            1. Items placed in the shopping cart will not be reserved until check-out is complete.

            2. Please provide accurate details. Your order details will be sent to your email.
              • For orders placed at Scanteak Showrooms: Order and delivery details may be changed up to 4 working days prior to your chosen delivery date. Please refer to “Before Your Delivery” below for details. Please note that deliveries may be postponed if the change occurs within 4 days prior to the original delivery date.
              • Item and Delivery Details for Online Orders may not be changed via the website. To make changes to orders placed on www.scanteak.com.sg, please contact us at via our Live Chat (accessible on our website).

              1. Customers may check-out purchases without creating an online account, however please note that Membership Discounts may not be applied for orders made under Guest Accounts.
                • If you are unsure of your Membership status, please feel free to contact us at any of our showrooms, or via our Live Chat function.
                • Please note that to facilitate your enquiry, personal details such as your contact number and/or email address may be requested for verification purposes.

                1. Conditions of sale apply to purchases made on www.scanteak.com.sg and/or at Scanteak's showrooms in Singapore. Please refer to "Conditions of Sale" for further details.

                2. For orders made online, please allow up to the next working day for our staff to contact you to re-confirm your order. You will be informed if any item on your order is unavailable, and for subsequent arrangements which may include:
                  • Postponement of delivery - in which the delivery of the entire order will be postponed until a date whereby the unavailable items are once again available.
                  • Cancellation of unavailable items from order - in which the unavailable item is cancelled from the order, and a refund will be issued via the original form of payment.

                  1. Private information such as your contact number may be required when creating an online account. More information on data protection can be viewed on our Privacy Policy page.

                  2. Standard delivery charges apply to exchanges of items due to reasons other than manufacturing defects within the warranty period. The prevailing rates are charged per address per trip, at S$60 for weekdays and S$80 for Saturdays. Please note that there are no deliveries on Sundays and Public Holidays. For delivery of small items and other applicable surcharges, please refer to https://scanteak.com.sg/pages/frequently-asked-questions#costs.

                  3. To ensure that all customers are able to receive their items on the date of their choice, please note that we are unable to accept requests for specific delivery times.

                  4. For As-Is, clearance and/or last-piece items (SKU/Product code number beginning with 'S'), please note that the maximum holding period is 1 calendar month. Factory series (SKU/Product code number beginning with 'F') may only be held for up to 3 calendar months.

                  SELF-COLLECTION OF PURCHASED ITEMS

                  1. For orders made at Scanteak showrooms, due to limited storage space, not all items are available for self-collection/cash-and-carry at the showrooms. Items which are unavailable for self-collection at the showrooms at the time of purchase must be collected from Scanteak’s warehouse, at 60 Sungei Kadut Drive, Singapore 729569.

                  2. Self-collection for items purchased on www.scanteak.com.sg may only be performed at Scanteak’s warehouse, at 60 Sungei Kadut Drive. For self collection orders, please contact our customer service via website live chat to arrange for collection date to ensure product availability. 

                  3. The warehouse opening hours are as follows:
                    • 10am – 11.45am, 1.15pm – 2.45pm (Mondays – Saturdays)
                    • Closed on Sundays and Public Holidays.

                    1. Please ensure that your mode of transport is able to accommodate the purchased items.
                      • Delivery charges will be imposed for items which need to be delivered via Scanteak’s delivery services.
                      • The prevailing rates are charged per address per trip, at S$60 for weekdays and S$80 for Saturdays. Please note that there are no deliveries on Sundays and Public Holidays. Weekday delivery charges are waived for purchases valued over S$2,000. For other rates and or applicable surcharges, please refer to https://scanteak.com.sg/pages/frequently-asked-questions#costs.

                      1. Items from the warehouse are in original factory condition. While some items are pre-assembled (flat-packed), others are not.  Please note that Scanteak’s items do not come with assembly instructions or tools.
                        • Servicing charges will be imposed for requests to assemble flat-packed furniture items at $30 per item for self-collection.

                        1. Please inspect your items before leaving the Scanteak warehouse or showroom. Scanteak is not liable for any claims regarding defects, transportation, assembly faults or damages sustained once a self-collected item leaves the premises of 60 Sungei Kadut Drive, Singapore 729569, or any Scanteak showroom in Singapore.

                        2. Please ensure that an acknowledgement of receipt is signed upon self-collection, and that a customer’s copy is issued.

                        3. Please ensure that your items are collected within one calendar month of receiving your notification SMS, or one calendar month from the date specified in your confirmation email (applies to online orders only). Any orders left uncollected after one calendar month will be considered forfeit.

                        BEFORE YOUR DELIVERY

                        1. 7 working days before your delivery, please ensure that all outstanding/balance payments have been made (either at any Scanteak showroom in Singapore, or on www.scanteak.com.sg ). Until full payment is made, ownership of all items remains with Scanteak, and Scanteak reserves the right to postpone deliveries, or withhold / confiscate / recall any products which have not been paid for.

                        2. Please ensure that there is sufficient space available at the location of delivery for your new items, as additional delivery charges and re-stocking fees will apply for items which are unable to be delivered due to insufficient space at the location of delivery.
                          • Scanteak will not be held liable for any damages caused as a result of insufficient space provided to our delivery teams.
                          • Please feel free to refer to the product dimensions listed on our website for reference, or contact Scanteak’s Customer Support via our website chat function.

                          1. Scanteak’s delivery services only include delivery, assembly of new items (purchased from Scanteak only), and removal of packaging (of newly-purchased Scanteak items).

                          2. Scanteak's delivery services do not include:
                            • Requests for disposal, dismantling of other items or to shift existing items from one area of the house to another. (Customers in HDB residences may contact the respective Town Councils for assistance with furniture disposals.)
                            • Post-purchase moving services.
                            • Installation of mechanisms (e.g. anti-tipping mechanisms, etc.) and/or mounting of items onto walls. Please contact your own contractor to perform such installations.

                          3. Our Customer Service team will contact you via SMS (at the contact number provided on your order) 5 calendar days prior to your delivery date to advise the delivery timing. Please contact us at via our Live Chat (accessible on our website) in the event the delivery timing allocated is inconvenient for you.

                          4. For condominiums or office buildings, please inform the estate’s management and/or security that you will be expecting a delivery. Do note that some estates require at least one week’s notice. Scanteak is not liable for unfulfilled deliveries due to being denied access to private estates, and reserves the right to impose an additional delivery charge for a rescheduled delivery.

                          5. To change your delivery address, please contact Scanteak’s customer support (via the website chat function) at least 3 working days prior to your delivery date.
                            • Please note that deliveries may be rescheduled as a change in delivery address affects the day’s delivery routes.

                          6. For rescheduling of deliveries, please contact our Showrooms or Scanteak’s customer support (via the website chat function) at least 3 working days before your delivery date.  
                            • Please note that requests to reschedule a delivery are subject to available delivery slots.  Additional stocking charges may also be imposed if the new delivery date exceeds 6 calendar months from the date of initial purchase.
                            • Customers will be required to top-up the difference in amount (S$20) in the event that a weekday delivery is rescheduled to a Saturday.
                            • Delivery dates may not be rescheduled on a pre-scheduled delivery date. Last-minute cancellations or postponing of deliveries will incur additional re-stocking and delivery charges (see Servicing, Returns and Cancellations).

                          7. To make amendments to items on your order: Please contact any of our showrooms at least 3 working days before your delivery date.
                            • Please note that deliveries may be rescheduled depending on item availability.

                          ON THE DATE OF YOUR DELIVERY

                          1. Deliveries are normally made during regular working hours (9.30am - 6pm). On days with bad weather, please expect some delays.

                          2. Our delivery team will be notifying you via a phone call (at the contact number provided on your order) when they are En route to your delivery address.
                            • While our delivery teams strive for punctuality, please note that delays may be caused by traffic/weather conditions, and/or unforeseen circumstances such as vehicle breakdowns or unexpected requests at another delivery address.
                            • If a delay is caused due to any of the above-stated reasons and we are unable to deliver your order, please allow us to reschedule your delivery. No additional delivery charges will be incurred.

                            1. If you are unable to be at the delivery address to receive your order, please ensure that someone (of minimum 18 years of age) is able to receive the items on your behalf. Please note that this representative is fully responsible for accepting the items and ensuring that your order is complete, and without manufacturing defects.

                            2. Please be at the delivery address during the allocated time slot. As the delivery time slot is not exclusive, our delivery team will only be able to wait for 15 minutes upon arrival at your address. (E.g., if the allocated time slot is 1pm – 3pm, our delivery team may arrive at 2.30pm. In this case, they will wait up to 2.45pm.)

                            3. In the event of a Failed Delivery, please note that the following charges will be incurred:
                              • Re-stocking charge (non-waivable):
                                • For purchase amounts up to S$500: 10% of purchase amount.
                                • For purchase amounts more than S$500: 10% of purchase amount, capped at S$100.
                              • Additional charges for a new delivery trip (non-waivable) will be applicable regardless of the purchased amount, and will be charged according to our standard delivery fees listed here: https://scanteak.com.sg/pages/frequently-asked-questions#costs

                            4. A delivery is considered as a Failed Delivery if:
                              • No one is present to receive the items during the allocated time slot (including the 15-minute grace period).
                              • The delivery teams are refused entry by estate/building management.
                              • Scanteak receives a postponement request 5 working days before the date of delivery ('5 working days' includes the date of delivery). E.G. if a delivery is scheduled for a Saturday, requests for postponement can be accepted up till the preceding Monday, 5.30pm.

                              1. Do check your items for any manufacturing defects upon delivery. For details regarding manufacturing defects, please refer to the “Product Warranty” section below.
                                • In the event a manufacturing defect is found, Scanteak’s delivery team may not immediately perform repairs or recall the defective item. Please follow the steps under "Servicing, Returns and Cancellations" to report manufacturing defects.
                                    • Please note that any further claims regarding shortages or defective goods must be made within 3 working days via our Live Chat with accompanying photographs and your sales order number as reference.
                                      • Scanteak reserves the right to refute claims regarding goods perceived to be defective in accordance with Scanteak’s Product Warranty.
                                      1. In the case of mansionettes or private housing, our delivery teams may be required to move items up staircases. An additional manpower charge may be imposed on-site if our movers are required to carry items to additional floors.                                       2. Additional manpower charges will be collected by our delivery teams upon delivery.

                                      SERVICING, RETURNS, AND CANCELLATIONS

                                            1. Please note that only teak wood items purchased from Scanteak are eligible for after-sales servicing/repairs. Cushion covers may not be returned or exchanged once delivered.

                                            2. Please allow our service team to contact you within 2-3 days of receiving your request.

                                            3. To report a defective product or request for after-sales servicing/repairs, please contact us via our Live Chat with the following information:
                                              • Your alpha-numeric sales order number (beginning with “P” or "E"). If you have misplaced your sales order, you may provide the contact number which was provided at the point of your purchase, so that your order and warranty details may be traced.
                                              • Please note that at any point in time, Scanteak will only hold records of up to 5 years prior.
                                              • A photograph of the whole item (the whole item should be visible in the photograph).
                                              • A close-up photograph of the defective area, or the area that requires servicing/repairs.

                                                Note: The images above are for illustration purposes only, they are not actual examples of defective products. Scanteak reserves the right to refute claims regarding goods perceived to be defective in accordance with Scanteak’s Product Warranty.

                                            4. Return of goods due to manufacturing defects
                                              • Requests for returns of goods must be submitted within 3 days from the receipt of delivered items.
                                              • Please note that any reported defects will be subject to review, and Scanteak reserves the right to refute any claims and services provided for items perceived to be defective.
                                              • For a list of item properties that are not considered as defects, please refer to Scanteak’s “Product Warranty”.
                                              • In the event that an item is deemed to be defective by Scanteak, Scanteak reserves the right to determine if the item may be returned, exchanged for an identical and/or similar item, or if repair services may be performed instead.
                                              • In the event that an item is deemed to be defective by Scanteak and the item is cancelled from the customer’s order, the value of the item (as paid by the customer) will be refunded. Please refer to “Refunds” for details. Please note that delivery charges are not refundable.
                                              • In the event a defective item is exchanged for a new item of
                                                • Lower value – the difference in sales amount will be refunded to the customer. Please refer to “Refunds” for details.
                                                • Higher value – the difference in sales amount must be collected at any Scanteak showroom, or via the online store before the next delivery date (as agreed upon and confirmed by both Scanteak and the customer).

                                            5. Return of normal goods (non-defective items)
                                                • Any requests for a Return or Exchange of normal goods must be performed within 3 days from the receipt of delivered items.
                                                • Returned items must be in good/original condition as determined by Scanteak, and additional servicing charges will be incurred for any item found to require repairs.
                                                • Servicing charges are subject to the extent of damages, and will be quoted by Scanteak’s staff upon collection of the returned item.
                                                • In the event an item is exchanged for another of
                                                  • Lower value – the difference in sales amount will be refunded to the customer. Please refer to “Refunds” for details.
                                                  • Higher value – the difference in sales amount must be collected at any Scanteak showroom, or via the online store before the next delivery date.
                                                • Delivery charges from the first delivery are not refundable, and additional delivery charges are applicable for returns or exchanges of normal goods.
                                                  • Weekdays at S$120 per address (two-way trip).
                                                  • Saturdays at S$160 per address (two-way trip).
                                              • Re-stocking fees (non-waivable) are applicable for returns of normal goods.
                                                • For purchase amounts up to S$500: 10% of purchase amount.
                                                • For purchase amounts more than S$500: capped at S$100.
                                              • Please refer to Scanteak’s “Product Warranty” for items which are not eligible for returns or exchanges.

                                            6. Cancellations of undelivered orders
                                              • Undelivered orders may be cancelled up to three days from the date an order was placed.
                                              • Orders placed online will be refunded directly via the original mode of purchase. Orders placed at any of Scanteak's showrooms will be refunded via cheque. All refunds are subject to a 10% bank and administration charge.
                                              • Cancellation requests received after 3 days from the date an order was placed will be refunded via a product voucher for use at any Scanteak showroom in Singapore (fully transferrable, valid for one calendar year).
                                                • Refunds in any other mode will be subject to a 10% bank and administration charge.
                                              • Please note that made-to-order items (including but not limited to: cushions and/or cushion covers in non-standard colours) cannot be cancelled once an order has been made.
                                            7. Refunds
                                              •  All cash refunds (refunds that are not processed via Scanteak Product Vouchers) are subject to a 10% bank and administration charge. This is deducted from amount to be refunded, after applicable charges (restocking, repair charges etc.) have been deducted.
                                              • In the event that a refund is required due to the cancellation of a defective item, or the cancellation of an undelivered item, the customer may choose to receive the refunded value in the form of
                                                1. A product voucher for use at any Scanteak showroom in Singapore (fully transferrable, valid for one calendar year) or
                                                2. Via original mode of payment (only for purchases made on www.scanteak.com.sg) or cheque (bank and administrative charges apply for online and cheque refunds).
                                              • In the event that a refund is required due to the cancellation and/or return of a non-defective item, the customer will receive the refunded value in the form of a product voucher for use at any Scanteak showroom in Singapore. Please note that re-stocking charges may also apply.
                                              • Our items may go on sale from time to time. Refunds due to temporary price differences may also be entertained, with the following conditions:
                                                1. A request for the refund must be made within 3 calendar days from the date of the original order. Scanteak reserves the right to reject any requests made after 3 days have lapsed.
                                                2. Refunds due to price differences will only be made in the form of a Scanteak Product Voucher, which can be used at any Scanteak showroom in Singapore. Only three Product Vouchers per Sales Order may be issued at any time. Scanteak's Product Vouchers are
                                                  1. Valid for one calendar year from the date stated on each Voucher, and
                                                  2. Fully transferable - which means they can be gifted to friends/family at your discretion.
                                              • Please allow up to 21 working days for refunds to be processed.
                                              • Please note that delivery charges and MTO (made-to-order) items are strictly non-refundable.

                                            8. Servicing
                                              • Standard servicing charges start at S$50, and are subject to change depending on the item which needs to be serviced.
                                              • Scanteak reserves the right to impose charges for additional materials if the required repair works involve the procurement of materials which are not available at the time of request.
                                              • Standard delivery charges are applicable if Scanteak's delivery services are required to transport the item for servicing to and from Scanteak's warehouse.

                                      PRODUCT WARRANTY

                                        1. Scanteak offers a limited warranty on all items purchased from www.scanteak.com.sg or any Scanteak showroom in Singapore, with the exception of:
                                          • Clearance items.
                                          • As-is items.
                                          • Items with adjustments at the customer’s request. (Installation of locks, etc.)

                                          1. Please maintain your copy of the sales order and/or invoice as a proof of purchase.

                                          2. Scanteak’s product warranty is valid for 6 calendar months effective from the date of first delivery, and only covers manufacturing defects for furniture items such as but not limited to:
                                            • Sofas, Bed frames, Tables, Chairs, Chests of drawers, Sideboards, Shelves and Dividers.
                                            • Cushions and Cushion covers.

                                          3. Scanteak's product warranty is valid for items found to have manufacturing defects only, and excludes damages to the delivered items caused by:
                                            • Wear and tear.
                                            • Mishandling.
                                            • Inappropriate maintenance methods.
                                            • Pest infestations introduced by external sources and/or existing infestations at the delivery address.

                                            1. As wood is a natural material, please note that the following are not considered as  manufacturing defects:
                                              • Shades/Colour tones/minor discolourations of wooden products.
                                              • Tree ring marks.
                                              • Marks from the knots of the tree, otherwise known as 'eyes'.
                                              • Natural characteristics such as wood holes.
                                              • Dark lines/patches caused by natural oil content.
                                              • Slight variances in the delivered product's measurements.

                                            2. Cushions and Covers
                                              • Scanteak provides a 6 months warranty on all cushions and its covers, which is limited to manufacturing defects only (e.g. faulty zippers, or if cushions and covers are found to be soiled upon delivery.
                                              • The warranty does not cover the following:
                                                • Damages sustained from users’ own negligence
                                                • Frayed thread ends.
                                                • Slightly irregular stitching.
                                                • Damages sustained from wear and tear.
                                                • Damages sustained from improper storage.
                                                • Damages sustained from improper handling/maintenance methods.
                                              • Do note that there may be a slight difference in cushion cover colours and cushion’s density from our showroom pieces as our showroom pieces have been subject to wear and tear

                                            3. Please note that the following actions will result in a void warranty:
                                              • Customization works done to an item by the customer or any  third-party, including but not limited to:
                                                • Staining or varnishing.
                                                • Installation of locks, casters or additional hinges.
                                                • Changes made to the structure or build of purchased items.
                                                • Moving of a delivered item to a different address from that which was specified on the original sales order. This also applies to items that are moved to overseas locations.

                                            4. Scanteak reserves the right to:
                                              • Impose servicing charges for items which require repairs:
                                              • Standard servicing charges starting from S$50, depending on the item in question. Additional charges may also be incurred depending on the amount of materials required to perform the repairs.
                                              • Advise a customer if an item is deemed to be beyond repair.
                                              • Impose delivery charges (starting from S$60) for items which require transportation services to and from the Scanteak warehouse.
                                              • Refuse further services under circumstances whereby it is determined by Scanteak that
                                                • The warranty is no longer valid.
                                                • The repeated efforts of the company and its staff are unable to meet the demands of a customer.
                                                • A customer is abusing the warranty policy.
                                                • A proof of purchase is not produced/available.

                                            5. Scanteak’s affiliated brands
                                              • Separate warranties are applicable to Scanteak’s affiliated brands and Consignment goods (items not bearing the Scanteak logo and/or trademark). Please refer to these warranties here:

                                            PRODUCT CARE, MAINTENANCE AND SAFETY

                                            1. Please be aware of safety hazards in the home. For your safety and to ensure the durability of your furniture, we recommend that you read and follow the instructions and/or recommendations contained in Scanteak's Product Care Guide.
                                              • Always exercise caution and discretion around furniture. House of Teak (Singapore) Pte Ltd and its related brands (Scanteak) will not be liable for any damage to your furniture and/or home fixtures and/or any other direct, indirect, special, incidental or consequential injury, loss or damage whatsoever arising from use of furniture in any manner that is inconsistent with the instructions contained in Scanteak's Product Care Guide.

                                            TERMS & CONDITIONS OF SALE

                                            These terms and conditions of sale apply to all purchases of Products and/or Consignment Goods (as defined below) from House of Teak (Singapore) Pte Ltd (the “Seller”). Any individual, firm, company or other form of entity that places an order for Products and/or Consignment Goods with the Seller by entering into a Sales Order is a customer (the “Customer”) of the Seller.

                                            The Seller and the Customer shall collectively be referred to as the “Parties” and each a “Party”.

                                            Products” in these terms and conditions refer to goods bearing the SCANTEAK trade mark, which are purchased by the Customer.

                                            Consignment Goods” in these terms and conditions refer to goods which do not bear the SCANTEAK brand and/or trade mark and in relation to which, the Seller acts as a distributer of such goods for the relevant manufacturers of Consignment Goods.

                                            Scanteak stores”, “Seller’s showrooms” and “Scanteak showrooms” in these terms and conditions refer to the retail outlets in Singapore which are wholly owned by the Seller, where transactions involving the purchase of Products and/or Consignments Goods are made.

                                            Scanteak’s warehouse” and “the Seller’s warehouse” in these terms and conditions refer to the Seller’s address of operations at 60 Sungei Kadut Drive, Singapore 729569.

                                            These terms and conditions of sale constitute the entire agreement between the Seller and the Customer for the sale of Products and/or Consignment Goods, and neither party has relied on any representation (whether expressed or implied) made by the other party in entering into this agreement.

                                             





                                            1. GENERAL TERMS

                                            1. The Customer agrees to contract with the Seller subject to these terms and conditions of sale. No variation to or alteration of these terms and conditions will bind the Seller unless made in writing and acknowledged by an authorized representative of the Seller.

                                            2. Any sale/transaction made on www.scanteak.com.sg or at any of the Seller’s showrooms in Singapore indicates that the Customer has read, understood and agreed to the Seller’s (i) Conditions of Sale, (ii) Product Warranty and (iii) Privacy Policy.

                                            3. After the signing of a sales order by the Customer, any request for a change of delivery details or the Products and/or Consignment Goods purchased must be made by the Customer in writing to the Seller at least four (4) working days before the Products and/or Consignment Goods are delivered to the Customer. The Seller has the absolute discretion to agree to or reject such requests made by the Customer.

                                            4. No cancellation of sales orders will be entertained by the Seller once the Customer has signed a sales order.

                                            5. Subject to Clause 7, it is the policy of the Seller not to make any cash refund on any purchased Product.

                                            6. Any balance payment due under sales orders shall be made by the Customer at any of the Seller’s showrooms before the allocated date of delivery. In situations whereby the Customer completes payment for the purchased Product at the point of delivery, the Seller reserves the right to limit the payment mode to Cash only, and reject other modes of payment such as cheque and/or credit/debit cards.

                                            7. Title to the purchased Products and/or Consignment Goods shall remain with the Seller until full payment has been made by the Customer for the purchased Products and/or Consignment Goods. Risk in the purchased Products and/or Consignment Goods shall pass to the Customer upon delivery of the purchased Products and/or Consignment Goods to the Customer.

                                            8. The Seller reserves the right to confiscate delivered Products and/or Consignment Goods, and/or withhold undelivered Products and/or Consignment Goods if full payment has not been received by the Seller one (1) working day before the allocated delivery date.

                                             

                                            2. PRICING

                                            1. All prices reflected on www.scanteak.com.sg or any of the Seller’s printed materials are
                                              • In Singapore Dollars (SGD, S$) and
                                              • Inclusive of prevailing Government Goods and Services Taxes (GST) and
                                              • Correct at the time of publishing.
                                                The Seller reserves the right to amend the prices of any of its Products and/or Consignment goods at its absolute discretion.

                                              1. In the event that the Seller permanently reduces its price on any of its Products and/or Consignment goods within fourteen (14) calendar days of the date of purchase, the Customer may request a refund of the difference between the price paid and the reduced selling price. A refund request must be made within fourteen (14) calendar days of the permanent price reduction and accompanied by an original purchase receipt. The Seller reserves the right to deny requests for such refunds after fourteen (14) calendar days have passed.

                                              2. For the avoidance of doubt, the policy set out in Clause 2.2 above is strictly not applicable to temporary price reductions or special offer promotions. Refunds for any difference in prices due to temporary price reductions or special offer promotions may be requested for within three (3) calendar days of the original purchase date. The Seller reserves the right to deny requests for such refunds after three (3) calendar days have passed.

                                              3. Any refunds issued by the Seller as required in Clause 2.2 and Clause 2.3 will be in the form of either (i) Online store credits for use on www.scanteak.com.sg or (ii) a Product Voucher for use at any of the Seller’s showrooms, which are subject to terms and conditions of use. The Seller reserves the right to stipulate these terms and conditions of use upon the issuance of refunds as required in Clause 2.2 and Clause 2.3.

                                              4. Besides Products and/or Consignment goods which are on promotion on the date of a purchase, items from the following collections are not eligible for further price reductions and/or discounts unless otherwise specified by the Seller:
                                                • Scanteak Select
                                                • Prologue
                                                • holm

                                               

                                              3. PRODUCT AVAILABILITY AND LIMITATION

                                              1. The Seller reserves the right, in its absolute discretion, to limit the quantity of each Product to be purchased by each Customer at any time.

                                              2. Any complimentary Product given free of charge, with or without a minimum spend, is accorded to the Customer on a first-come-first-served, while stocks last basis. Should a Product become unavailable for any reason, the Seller may choose, in its absolute discretion, to replace the Product with another of equal or similar value.

                                               

                                              4. DELIVERY AND STORAGE OF PRODUCTS

                                              1. The Seller reserves the right to impose a Delivery charge on all purchases, unless specified otherwise. The Seller reserves the right to amend the monetary cost of Delivery charges in its absolute discretion.

                                              2. Deliveries of Products and/or Consignment Goods may only be performed on a date which has been agreed upon by the Seller and the Customer, and as stipulated in the sales order or such other date which the Seller may agree to in its absolute discretion.

                                              3. Deliveries are subject to available delivery slots. The Seller reserves the right to reschedule a delivery if necessary, but remains obliged to inform the Customer about any changes made to the delivery schedule. If the Customer wishes to reschedule a delivery, it must be communicated to the Seller in writing at least four (4) days prior to the initial delivery date.

                                              4. The Customer shall provide an accurate delivery address and the Customer’s full contact details to the Seller. The Seller shall not be responsible for any loss, damage, delay, failure or error in delivering the Products and/or Consignment Goods due to a lack of clarity or legibility in the details provided by the Customer on the sales order.

                                              5. The Seller reserves the right to impose upon the Customer restocking charges and additional delivery charges for any additional delivery trips arranged under any or all of the following circumstances:
                                                • Returns of non-defective Products and/or Consignment goods.
                                                • Exchanging of non-defective Products and/or Consignment goods for different Products and/or Consignment goods.
                                                • Failed deliveries whereby the Customer or a designated Proxy/Representative of the Customer is not available to receive the purchased Products and/or Consignment goods during the allocated delivery time slot and/or the Seller’s delivery teams are refused entry by estate/building security and/or management.
                                                • Failed deliveries whereby the Customer or a designated Proxy/Representative of the Customer fails to make full payment for the purchased Products and/or Consignment Goods one (1) working day prior to the initial allocated delivery date.

                                                1. The Seller’s delivery services only include transportation and assembly of most recently purchased Products and/or Consignment Goods, and the removal of packaging materials (of Products and/or Consignment goods). The Seller reserves the right to decline any or all of the following service requests:
                                                  • Disposal of other items.
                                                  • Dismantling of other items.
                                                  • Shifting of other items from one area of the delivery address to another.
                                                  • Installing of other components such as anti-tipping mechanisms.

                                                  1. In the event that the Customer requests for purchased Products and/or Consignment goods to be held in storage, the maximum period for storage of such purchased Products and/or Consignment goods shall be six (6) months from the date of the sales order. If storage is required beyond the said six (6) month period, the Seller shall be entitled to charge a storage fee for the extended period beyond the initial six (6) month period.

                                                  2. The Customer must receive purchased cushion covers within one (1) month from the date he or she is contacted by the Seller (via SMS or E-mail), unless otherwise agreed upon in writing between both the Customer and the Seller. Cushion covers not received within the stipulated one (1) month will be considered forfeited without refund. This also applies to cushion covers AND any other products to be collected by the Customer in person at the Seller’s Warehouse, subject to Warehouse opening hours. 

                                                  3. At the time of delivery of the purchased Products and/or Consignment goods, it shall be the responsibility of the Customer to carefully inspect the Products and/or Consignment goods delivered by the Seller to ensure that
                                                    • The quantities of Products and/or Consignment goods delivered are accurate and
                                                    • The Products and/or Consignment goods are delivered in good and merchantable condition without manufacturing defects (except for Products and/or Consignment goods sold on an “as is” basis).

                                                    1. Any person who accepts delivery of purchased Products and/or Consignment goods on behalf of the Customer at the place of delivery must be of at least 18 years of age as of the date of delivery, and shall be deemed as the Customer’s Representative. The Customer’s Representative is duly authorized by the Customer to inspect the Products and/or Consignment goods and to accept delivery on the Customer’s behalf. The acceptance by such representative(s) shall be binding upon the Customer.

                                                    2. By signing on the delivery order, the Customer or the Customer’s Representative
                                                      • Accepts the purchased Products and/or Consignment goods and
                                                      • Acknowledges that the correct quantities have been delivered and
                                                      • The purchased Products and/or Consignment goods are in good and merchantable condition without manufacturing defects. Examples of properties which are not considered to be manufacturing defects can be found on the Seller’s Product Warranty.

                                                      1. Contactless deliveries will not require the Customer (or Customer's Representative) to sign a proof of receipt. The Customer will not hold the Seller or its affiliated parties liable for goods that have gone missing after an item has been delivered to the Customer's address. Assembly services will not be provided for contactless deliveries.

                                                      2. The Seller may, at its absolute discretion, enlist third-party logistics service providers to deliver purchased Products and/or Consignment goods to the Customer. To ensure that the purchased Products and/or Consignment goods are delivered, the Seller may disclose the Customer’s contact details and delivery address to such third-party logistics service providers.
                                                        • Any additional costs arising from failed deliveries under the charge of such third-party logistics service providers will be borne fully by the customer.
                                                        • Services provided by third-party logistics service providers are limited to the arranging and performing deliveries only, and exclude assembling of furniture or any other installation services.

                                                        1. Products and/or Consignment goods which are collected by the Customer at the Seller’s warehouse or the Seller’s showrooms may be inspected by the Customer upon request. The Seller reserves the right to impose upon the Customer additional charges if the Seller is required to provide assembly services for any of such Products mentioned in this clause 4.14.

                                                        2. The Customer shall be fully responsible for the inspection of Products and/or Consignment goods mentioned in Clause 4.14. The Seller shall not be liable for any claims regarding defects, transportation, missing parts, assembly faults or damages sustained once a self-collected item leaves the premises of the Seller’s warehouse, or any of the Seller’s showrooms in Singapore.

                                                        3. Not all Products and/or Consignment goods are available at the Seller’s showrooms for cash-and-carry, or self-collection. Products and/or Consignment goods which are unavailable for self-collection at the Seller’s showrooms at the time of purchase must be collected from the Seller’s warehouse. Self-collection for Products and/or Consignment goods purchased on www.scanteak.com.sg may only be performed at the Seller’s warehouse.

                                                         

                                                        5. FORCE MAJEURE

                                                        1. The Seller shall not be liable for any failure to meet its obligations occasioned by circumstances beyond the Seller's control including (but without limiting the generality of the foregoing) acts of God, exceptional weather conditions, floods, droughts, storms, lightning, high winds, typhoons, earthquakes, natural disasters, power failures, telephone or land-line connection failures, impacts with or by air crafts or aerial objects, explosions, hostilities, insurgencies, invasions, epidemics, quarantines, acts of foreign or public enemies, hi-jacking or unlawful seizure or wrongful exercise of control of vehicles, curtailment of transportation facilities, civil commotion, riots, industrial disputes, industrial actions by workmen, shortage of labour, goods and materials, acts or regulations of government, strikes, lock-outs or other industrial action, fires, terrorism or threats of terrorism, public health threats, war and civil disturbance, nuclear threats, nuclear accidents and/or nuclear contamination. Further performance of the Seller’s obligations shall be suspended for so long as the Seller remains so prevented or hindered.

                                                        2. The Seller shall not be liable to the Customer for any direct, indirect, special, incidental or consequential loss and/or expense, whether contemplated by the Parties or not, including loss of profit and/or loss of opportunity suffered by the Customer or claims by any third party against the Customer arising out of or in connection with the sale of the Products and/or Consignment goods.

                                                         

                                                        6. PRODUCT WARRANTY

                                                        1. The Seller warrants the purchased Products against manufacturing defects for a period of six (6) calendar months from the date of delivery (the “Warranty Period”).

                                                        2. In the event that a purchased Product contains manufacturing defects and provided that the purchased Products have been
                                                          • Delivered by the Seller’s designated delivery staff and
                                                          • Used according to the Seller’s Product Care Guide,
                                                            the Customer may request assistance from the Seller to repair or replace the purchased Product within the Warranty Period, according to Clause 7.2.The original sales order or delivery order must be produced.

                                                        3. The Product Warranty provided by the Seller in this Clause shall not apply to the following Products:
                                                          • Clearance items
                                                          • As-is items
                                                          • Display/Last piece items
                                                          • Products on which adjustments were made at the customer’s request.
                                                          • Complimentary items (including but not limited to additional hardware such as anti-tipping mechanisms, or any product given out of goodwill or via a promotion)

                                                        4. For the Products listed in Clause 6.3, the Seller shall not accept responsibility for and gives no representation, warranty or guarantee as to the state or condition of the Products sold.

                                                        5. The Product Warranty provided by the Seller in this Clause does not warrant damages caused by and/or to the Products as a result of
                                                          • Wear and tear,
                                                          • Mishandling,
                                                          • Inappropriate maintenance methods and/or failure to comply with the guidelines set in the Seller’s Product Care Guide, and
                                                          • Pest infestations introduced to the Product by external sources.

                                                        6. The following actions involving the Products will result in a void Product Warranty:
                                                          • Customization works done to a Product by either the Customer or a third-party, including but not limited to (a) Staining or Varnishing, (b) Installation of locks, casters or additional hinges, and (c) Changes made to the structure or build of the Products.
                                                          • Moving of a delivered Product to an address which differs from that which was specified on the original Sales Order. This also applies to Products that are transported out of Singapore.

                                                        7. The Seller reserves the right to refuse any requests made by the Customer for services, exchanges or refunds for Products which are found, after a Product review conducted by the Seller’s representatives, to have no manufacturing defects. Examples of properties which are not considered as manufacturing defects are listed in Clause 7.

                                                        8. For the avoidance of doubt, the warranty contained in this Clause does not apply to Consignment Goods. The Seller expressly states that no warranty whatsoever is given by the Seller to the Customer in relation to Consignment Goods. In some cases, the manufacturer of the Consignment Goods may provide warranty on the relevant Consignment Goods and in such cases, the Customer should approach the manufacturer directly when Consignment Goods are found to be defective. The Seller will not be liable for any direct, indirect, special, incidental or consequential injury, loss or damage whatsoever that may be caused to the Customer arising from or as a result of the Customer’s use of the Consignment Goods.

                                                         

                                                        7. REPAIRS, EXCHANGES AND RETURNS

                                                        1. Subject to Clause 7.2 below, any Product sold and accepted upon delivery in accordance with Clause 4.9, 4.10 and 4.11 above is non-returnable and non-exchangeable.

                                                        2. Notwithstanding Clause 7.1 above, if any Product is found to be defective at the time of delivery (and is verified to have manufacturing defects by the Seller’s representatives) or such a Product may, at the Seller’s absolute discretion, be repaired or exchanged by the Seller with a non-defective piece of the same or equivalent Product. If the Seller is unable to repair or replace the defective Product, the Seller may, at its absolute discretion, give a partial refund while allowing the Customer to keep the defective Product or give a full refund and reclaim the defective Product.  

                                                        3. The Seller shall not bear any handling cost, transportation cost, shipment cost and any other cost relating to the repair or exchange of Products, especially if the aforementioned services are required as a result of a Customer wishing to return or repair Products which are non-defective and/or damaged as a result of any of the actions listed in Clause 7.5.

                                                        4. The policy contained in this Clause 7 is not applicable to Products listed in Clause 6.3.

                                                        5. The policy contained in this Clause 7 is not applicable if
                                                          • the defect is caused by the Customer,
                                                          • the defect is a direct or indirect result of the Customer’s misuse or use without following instructions and guidelines contained in the Product Care Guide,
                                                          • the Customer attempted to modify or repair the Product and/or
                                                          • the Customer knew about the defect before entering into the sales contract.

                                                          1. The Seller reserves the right to
                                                            • Impose servicing charges starting from S$50, depending on the Product in question and the amount of materials required to perform said servicing works.
                                                            • Advise a Customer if an item is deemed to be beyond repair, and propose an alternative solution.
                                                            • Impose delivery charges if Scanteak’s delivery services are required to transport items to and from the Seller’s warehouse. Delivery charges are also applicable if a Customer requires the Seller’s representatives to visit the Customer’s delivery address for the purposes of assessing the damages sustained to any Products.
                                                            • Refuse further services rendered to the Customer under circumstances whereby it is determined by the Seller and/or any of its Representatives that
                                                              • The Product Warranty is no longer valid.
                                                              • The repeated efforts of the Seller and its Staff and/or Representatives are unable to meet the demands of the Customer.
                                                              • A Customer is abusing the Product Warranty.

                                                            1. Separate warranties are applicable to the Seller’s affiliated brands and Consignment goods.

                                                            2. Details of the applicable charges listed in Clause 7 can be found on https://scanteak.com.sg/pages/terms-of-use#aftersales 

                                                            3. Made-to-order (MTO) items are strictly not eligible for refunds.

                                                             

                                                            8. DISCLAIMERS

                                                            1. The Products and/or Consignment goods sold by the Seller are to be used for the purposes and in the manner for which they are designed. The Products and/or Consignment goods also shall be used in accordance with the Seller’s Product Care Guide. Failing which, the Seller shall not accept responsibility for any damage caused to the purchased Products arising out of misuse or failure to follow use instructions given by the Seller or contained in the Product Care Guide.

                                                            2. Due to the varying nature of raw materials (in particular, natural teak wood), the colour, texture, appearance and odour of the Products delivered to the Customer may vary slightly from the pieces displayed in the Seller’s showrooms. Such variations are not defects and do not compromise the quality of the purchased Products. The Seller reserves the right to dispute or refuse claims relating to the aforementioned properties. The Seller is not obliged to entertain requests for Products to have similar and/or identical colour tones, patterns and/or markings.

                                                            3. Due to constraints in the availability of raw materials or other reasons, the Seller may make minor modifications to the designs of some Products in order to improve the efficacy and/or safety of such Products. As such, the purchased Product may differ slightly in actual construction from the pieces displayed in the Seller’s showrooms.

                                                            4. Images on www.scanteak.com.sg are for illustration purposes only, and may not be an accurate representation of the actual colours/grains of the Products.

                                                            5. Product measurements are subject to slight differences of up to (+/-)5mm, as each Product is finished by hand.

                                                            6. In agreeing to purchase tall/large items (such as but not limited to bookshelves, chests of drawers and sideboards), the Customer is aware of and understands the risks involved, as highlighted by the Seller. This is done by acknowledging the Safety Advice provided at the point of sale. This Safety Advice is also available in the Seller's Product Care Guide (point 5: Cabinets, Drawers, Sideboards, Bookshelves).

                                                            7. For safe usage of shelves, shelving units, and/or chests of drawers, the Seller recommends that Customers follow the Seller’s Product Care Guide carefully. The Seller may provide anti-tipping mechanisms upon the Customer’s request, but will not be responsible for the installation of such mechanisms, or any damages sustained by the Product or otherwise as a result of installation works performed by the Customer.

                                                             

                                                            9. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

                                                            1. The Seller shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, special, incidental or consequential injury, loss or damage whatsoever that may be caused to the Customer arising from or as a result of any act or omission by any Party, including the Seller.

                                                            2. In the event that the Seller is liable to the Customer for any reason under these terms and conditions, the Seller’s aggregate liability shall be limited to the price of the purchased Product from which damage was suffered by the Customer. 

                                                            3. The Seller shall not be liable for any personal damages and/or injuries sustained by the Customer if the Product was not used in accordance with the guidelines set in the Seller’s Product Care Guide.

                                                             

                                                            10. OTHER MATTERS

                                                            1. In agreeing to enter into a Sales Order with the Seller, the Customer agrees to be automatically included into the Seller’s Scanteak membership/loyalty program once a minimum purchase requirement (as determined by the Seller) has been met. To enjoy privileges offered to members within the Seller’s Scanteak membership/loyalty program, a valid NRIC/FIN number must be produced by the Customer at the time of entering into the sales order. This NRIC/FIN number serves as a membership number, and will be used for identification and/or verification purposes. A Customer may opt out of the Scanteak membership/loyalty program by communicating his or her intention in writing to the Seller. A Customer may also choose to unsubscribe to marketing messages via unsubscribe links provided in the Seller’s electronic communications.
                                                              • The Seller reserves the right to request for the Customer's NRIC/FIN number at the point of sale as a method of allocating membership statuses.
                                                              • The Seller reserves the right to deny a Customer any membership privileges if a NRIC/FIN number is not provided for verification purposes.

                                                              1. Intellectual Property: All intellectual property (including but not limited to designs, techniques, methods of manufacture, specifications, artwork and inventions) contained in or arising from the purchased Products belongs exclusively to the Seller. The Customer shall not reverse engineer, copy or in any other way misuse the intellectual property belonging to the Seller.

                                                              2. Governing Law & Jurisdiction: These terms and conditions shall be governed by and construed in all respects in accordance with the Laws of Singapore and the Parties irrevocably submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the Singapore Courts.

                                                              3. Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act (Cap. 53B): A person who is not a Party of these terms and conditions shall not have any right under the Contracts (Right of Third Parties) Act (Cap. 53B), to enforce any provision of these terms and conditions.

                                                              4. Privacy Policy: The Seller shall be allowed to contact the Customer using the provided contact details for delivery issues, sales or marketing purposes, unless the Customer has expressed to the Seller in writing (via letter or electronic mail), the intention to not receive any of such communications. More information regarding how a Customer’s information may be used by the Seller can be found on the Seller’s Privacy Policy page.

                                                              5. Personal Data Protection: Any personal information provided by the Customer shall not be disclosed or disseminated to any third party, unless the Seller is required to, to
                                                                • meet any applicable law, regulation, legal process or enforceable governmental request,
                                                                • enforce applicable Terms of Service, including investigation of potential violations,
                                                                • detect, prevent or otherwise address fraud, security or technical issues,
                                                                • protect against harm to the rights, property or safety of the Seller as required or permitted by law,
                                                                • fulfill deliveries for orders of Products and/or Consignment goods, and
                                                                • communicate marketing messages to Customers,
                                                                  and the Customer consents to the collection, use and disclosure of his/her personal data for these purposes.
