VACKRARE VARDAGSVARA: BIG WORDS, SIMPLE TRUTH.
In 1919, the influential Swedish art historian and critic Gregor Paulsson published a significant text titled Vackrare Vardagsvara (More Beautiful Everyday Things). It called for high standards of design in everyday life, in which things were functional yet beautiful – a principle that quickly became a motto for Swedish design.
